Parent Reminder for the Jr. Vet. Equine One-Day Saturday Workshop
Please read this, you will need this information!
Please share with your other drivers also. It is important! Thanks.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring well-fitted, work gloves and sweatshirts/jackets/hats. We will offer the class rain or shine.
Bundle up please, Corbett is cooler than in town. We will be outside much of the time.
Please send a healthy lunch and water bottle with your child.
Please have kids wear long pants; capris pants or shorts are not allowed.
Please have child’s bangs pinned back and hair in a ponytail. IT IS MANDATORY! Please pin back boy’s
long hair as well. We do not want dirty, animal slimed hands rubbing hair out of eyes all day. Plus, they need
to see well for working with animals and especially, large and unpredictable 1,000-pound horses.
Please no Open-toed, Slotted or Open-healed shoes. THOSE ARE NOT ALLOWED BY OUR INSURANCE
COMPANY. Tied-on sturdy shoes or boots are required!!!!!
HOW TO GET THERE:
We will transport your student on the Saturday class day if you chose and paid for our Bus.
Please meet us at the Farm Program at 9:00 a.m. drop off in the morning & 3:20 for pick up if you are driving
your child. Please do not be late. Directions are on our web site www.OldMcDonaldsFarm.org, top right of
home page. Do not use Google Map, it is wrong.
Please meet our Bus for Old McDonald’s Farm, Inc. (OMF) at Concorde Career College, 1425 NE Irving St, Portland OR 97232. Not at Concordia!
You can enter on NE 15th/Irving where it is paved. Head north under the building and then turn right. Head east to the
back of the property away from all those buildings. Look for our bus and the really, really, big, old tree in the middle
of the parking lot. Concorde Career College has kindly offered this drop off/pick up space to us but please be
respectful and do not linger there because we do not want to take up their student parking. They have asked us to drive
slowly and watch out for the young people “racing in there” that are late for classes. Please drive super slowly and be
careful as it is tight and there are many pedestrians. We doubt it will be busy on Saturdays though.
****PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE DOWN THE GRAVEL ROAD AT CONCORDE COLLEGE. There is no access for parents on the gravel road even though our OMF bus will drive on it. If parents drive on the gravel road, we may lose this parking privilege at Concorde. (The bus is too tall to fit under the buildings.)
Late or not coming? Please call 503.695.3316. Please do not leave us wondering and waiting. Please call this land-line number; do not send an email to us for this. Please call. See you soon! We thank you.
